Herriot Hospice Homecare, Thirsk

The Together Group was proud to lead the full refurbishment and redevelopment of the former Lambert Memorial Hospital, transforming it into a modern, purpose-built hospice for Herriot Hospice Homecare. The new facility will provide vital palliative care, bereavement support, and hospice-at-home services for the local community.

Our team delivered every aspect of the works, from initial enabling and structural alterations to the full internal fit-out. We reconfigured internal spaces, installed new doors and windows, fitted a commercial kitchen, and raised floor levels to improve accessibility. Externally, we built new terrace and patio areas with ventilated timber decking, redesigned the car park, and installed privacy fencing, a cycle store with a green roof, and a dedicated generator compound.

We also stripped and reinstated both pitched and flat roofs, adding rooflights for improved natural light. Throughout the project, we preserved key heritage features such as stained-glass and arched windows while upgrading the building with modern, energy-efficient materials. Internally, a full clinical fit-out was completed, including new surface finishes and a ceiling-mounted track hoist system in patient rooms.
